MSHHRA Recognition Award Program
GOAL: To recognize individuals for participation in MSHHRA activities, or for outstanding contributions to healthcare human resources management, these awards will be considered and given on an annual, or monthly basis, normally at the Annual meeting. In addition to years of service and perfect attendance, The following are the award categories and a listing of previous recipients**:
Hal Grant Award: One of MSHHRA?s most prestigious awards, the Hal Grant award was established in the early 1970?s to memorialize one of our members. Hal Grant was the Personnel Director at Madigan Memorial Hospital in Houlton, ME. This dedicated HR professional rarely missed a meeting, and would fly from Houlton to attend meetings throughout the state. He met an untimely death when his plane crashed into a mountain on the way to a MSHHRA meeting one stormy afternoon. The Award was established in his honor to recognize excellence in human resources administration and/or for outstanding contributions to the Human Resources field by a MSHHRA member. The award recognizes consistent support and significant contributions to the programs and objectives of MSHHRA. Through this individual, the stature and mission of MSHHRA are enhanced and moved forward.
The Hal Grant award is not necessarily given each year. A committee composed of previous recipients of the award meet and select recipient.
